Diversifying products? We know all about it.
We’re never ones to shy away from a good tradeshow, and especially when they’re taking place in a sunny spot like Queensland. So naturally we leapt at the chance to collaborate with Spike by ikeGPS at the Visual Impact Tradeshow in Brisbane.
Spike, as it is known to its friends (of which there are a growing number), is a smart laser measurement solution for your smartphone or tablet. Allowing users to instantly measure areas for signs by simply taking a picture, it pays lip service to your old high school maths teacher who told you that you’d need geometry in the real world. And aren’t we forever grateful for that!
“The key to Spike’s popularity is that it is so easy to use,” says Wayne Hood, Spicers National Sales Specialist - Self-Adhesive Vinyl. “With Spike, you can work out all sorts of complex measurements on the spot, without hiring an expensive scissor lift or taking out your ladder and tape measure. Customers are always impressed.”
Our stand at Visual Impact, A20, will include a 4 metre long partitioned wall that replicates a mobile shop front with windows and doors, with our X-Board® printed on both sides with a ‘brick work’ look. This will provide a large and real-life demo measuring area for people to try Spike out for themselves. For added info, a TV will have a video playing on loop, with images of what Spike can do and our client testimonials.
“Measurements are instantly recorded within the photo and then exported as a PDF, JPG or Spike file. It’s an incredible time and money saver and means it’s much easier, and quicker, to bid on more complicated jobs,” adds Wayne. “You can use it in so many professions – printing and signwriting of course but also any type of construction work. An accurate measurement is just a click away.”
Of course, no tradeshow would be complete without showcasing one of our favourite Wide Format machines, the Mimaki JV400-LX, and our 3M™ products, so attendees should be sure to check them out too. For good measure.
